Noise Technical Reports
Yorke CEQA prepares Noise Technical Reports to evaluate potential noise and vibration impacts from construction and operational activities. Using industry-standard modeling tools such as the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)’s Roadway Construction Noise Model (RCNM) and Traffic Noise Model (TNM), as well as SoundPLAN, we evaluate project’s impacts against local noise ordinances, General Plan policies, and applicable CEQA significance criteria, ensuring accurate impact studies and effective mitigation strategies, where needed.

- Use of FHWA’s RCNM for equipment-based noise estimates;
- Quantitative and qualitative assessment of short-term construction noise;
- Comparison of predicted noise levels to local community standards;
- Evaluation of impacts on nearby sensitive receptors (e.g., residences, schools); and
- Identification of necessary noise control measures (e.g., soundwalls, acoustic barriers).
Operational Noise Analysis
- Traffic noise modeling using TNM;
- Assessment of mechanical equipment noise (e.g., HVAC systems, industrial fans);
- Use of SoundPLAN for stationary source modeling;
- Evaluation of long-term operational noise impacts on nearby sensitive receptors; and
- Identification of necessary noise control measures (e.g., soundwalls, acoustic barriers).
- Evaluation of potential vibration impacts from construction or proposed equipment; and
- Identification of necessary control measures.
- Development of project-specific mitigation strategies;
